Why Signature?

We’re not your typical law firm. We are not an impersonal corporate structure. Instead, we operate as a genuine partnership where everyone has a voice.

We hold regular Members’ Meetings where everyone is invited, not just fee earners, and where we share important recent developments such as quarterly financial updates, winning new instructions and even members’ birthdays!

We continue to have a unique non-discretionary profit-sharing arrangement for all Members that rewards contributions across the firm, encouraging everyone to go the extra mile to make our business more successful.

What makes us different? Here is what our people tell us:

  • Real responsibility from day one. Associates are encouraged to have direct contact with clients, which adds value to our client relationships and teaches associates valuable skills. Other Members, such as PAs and the operational team, are integrated into the work of our legal teams so that they can understand their daily objectives and challenges and support them most efficiently.
  • Taking ownership of cases. Associates work collaboratively alongside partners from the inception of a case which improves team integration and adds value and efficiency to our work.
  • Continuity in resourcing our cases. We do our best to maintain the same teams on our cases so that associates, trainees, paralegals and PAs follow the same cases, which improves their experience and provides efficiency and better value to the clients.
  • A genuinely collaborative culture. Partners, associates, trainees and other Members work together towards one goal: winning for our clients. The work is demanding, but the team environment is supportive, stimulating and friendly.
  • Diverse experience. Associates are encouraged to increase the breadth of their experience working across multiple areas of expertise and in different teams. This requires intellectual curiosity and adaptability. We also try to accommodate those who are interested in specialising in specific areas of expertise as their careers progress.
  • Understanding our clients’ businesses. It is not possible to provide top-level client service without understanding clients’ businesses and having a genuine interest in them. We look for lawyers who are willing to become true specialists in the industries they serve.
  • Hands-on litigation and arbitration experience. We provide opportunities for our junior lawyers to gain procedural experience through attendance at hearings and working with experts and factual witnesses.
  • Early exposure to business development. We recognise that building client relationships is part of being a lawyer. From attending client meetings to networking events and writing articles, associates are given the opportunity to develop commercial skills from the start.
  • Internal promotion to partnership. We support talent and take internal promotion to partnership very seriously. There is no pre-determined cap on partnership; the assessment is on merit.
  • Inclusive job application process. As part of the job application process, applicants meet their prospective peers. Applicants are encouraged to indicate, by reference to our website, which peers they would like to meet, and are also invited to visit the office before accepting an offer.

The advantage of a specialist firm. We combine the market recognition and case quality of a leading disputes practice with the friendly atmosphere of a boutique firm. The pace can be intense and you are expected to become self-motivated and self-sufficient quickly, but we support each other and you’ll enjoy coming to work.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. We believe in rewarding talent and recognising the contributions our people make to the firm’s success.
